April marks the observance of National Stress Awareness Month, a crucial period for shining a spotlight on the importance of managing stress, especially for individuals living with chronic conditions such as Lymphedema and Lipedema. Stress doesn’t just weigh on the mind; it can also amplify the symptoms of chronic illnesses, complicating the management of these conditions.  Prioritizing stress management for chronic illness isn’t just beneficial—it’s essential.

National Stress Awareness Month reminds us of stress’s detrimental effects on our well-being. Stress varies from person to person and is often described as a physical, mental, or emotional strain. While occasional stress can be a normal part of life, enduring stress over long periods can damage our physical and psychological health. Recognizing the signs of stress and anxiety is the first step towards building resilience, managing stress effectively, and knowing when and where to seek help.
