Specifically, we are creating a go-to place for all things lymphedema, from garments to informational articles to resources for those dealing with lymph disorders.

Are you looking for more information, resources, and connections? Under the Lymphedema Blog tab, you will find informative articles to help you better navigate the world of lymphedema. Under the Lymphedema Resource button, you will find connections to fabulous products and people serving the lymphedema Community. New to our Resource Page is Abby Malport with her Lymph Motion Mitt.

Abby Maleport is a LANA-certified lymphedema therapist, licensed massage therapist, and certified personal trainer. She started her career as a physical therapist assistant, and that is when she became a certified lymphedema therapist CLT. After practicing in the medical field for eight years, she realized that she wanted to be able to help more people. Returning to school, she received her massage license and opened a business specializing in lymphatic drainage massage. Abby treats a wide variety of clientele at her clinic.

Lymphedema treatment usually consists of four parts: manual lymph drainage (MLD), multi-layer compression bandaging, exercise, and skincare. MLD is a light skin-stretching massage that helps promote the movement of lymphatic fluid. Therapy is applied to unaffected areas first, making it possible for the fluid to move out of the affected area.

Abby said teaching her patients manual lymphatic drainage was challenging as people often get the technique wrong. Therefore, she created a product that made self-MLD easier and more effective. It took Abby a year and a half to develop and launch the Lymph Motion Mitt with an instructional video library, now available for purchase.

Finding the heart to heal

I love this idea because it empowers those dealing with lymphedema. MLD is essential to managing your lymphedema, and the Lymph Motin Mitt is a fabulous tool, giving you just the right amount of tension to massage that lymph fluid out. On top of that, Abby has put together a library of videos to instruct you on proper use.

Although the Lymph Motion Mitt was designed to help those with lymphatic issues, remember we all have a lymph system. This is a product that would have health benefits for all of us. Abby is “thrilled and excited to be able to share this product with anyone who desires the vast benefits of manual lymphatic drainage.”

Here’s a short demonstration given by Abby herself. To order your Lymph Motion Mitt, visit her site here.
