Grateful for All of You
As Thanksgiving week arrives here in the United States, it invites us to pause, take a breath, and reflect on the many gifts in our lives. For me, this moment of gratitude always circles back to you—the individuals I serve, the therapists I collaborate with, and the representatives from the many companies who support this work. Together, you’ve helped me learn, grow, and continually evolve this business. The lessons that lymphedema—and each of you—have taught me are among the greatest blessings of my life.
Lessons from Lymphedema
Thank you for sharing your stories, vulnerability, and wisdom with me. Lymphedema is a chronic and progressive condition that demands much from those who live with it. Over the years, I’ve witnessed profound patience as you navigate swelling, persistence in maintaining daily routines, fortitude in facing emotional hurdles, and courage in seeking help even when it’s difficult.
Despite the challenges, I’ve also seen joy, relief, and renewed independence emerge when someone finds the right tools, support, and determination to care for their health. Your resilience and strength inspire me daily. Lymphedema may not be for the faint of heart, but you continuously show what steadfast perseverance looks like.
The Importance of Self-Care
One of the greatest gifts this work has given me is a deeper understanding of self-care—not only for those living with lymphedema, but for all of us. I’ll be honest: self-care has not always been my strong suit. But lymphedema has taught me, again and again, that caring for yourself isn’t selfish—it’s essential.
I’ve seen many customers struggle to put themselves first or to prioritize their condition in their daily lives. It can be uncomfortable at first, and sometimes it means pushing past guilt or resistance. But when you allow space for rest, healing, and attention to your own needs, the transformation is remarkable. You deserve that time. You deserve that care. The rest of the world can wait just a moment, please!
Education and Growth
Lymphedema remains unfamiliar to many people, which makes education especially important. Through research, seminars, classes, and countless conversations, I’ve learned so much about the lymphatic system and how deeply it influences our overall health.
I’ve seen how small shifts—steady movement, nourishing foods, mindful habits—can create meaningful, lasting change. I keep a tiny turtle statue on my desk to remind me of this truth: slow, consistent steps forward are still progress. Don’t rush yourself. Don’t underestimate yourself. You are absolutely worth the time and attention it takes to care for your body.
A Grateful Heart
Owning a business comes with its challenges, but being part of the lymphedema
community is truly one of the greatest blessings of my life. Thank you for allowing me to serve you, walk alongside you, and learn from you. I am deeply, genuinely grateful for each and every one of you.
As we head into this season of gratitude, I hope you find moments that bring comfort, joy, and connection. May your time with loved ones be healing to both heart and spirit. Your presence in my life is a gift, and I am thankful beyond words.
Keep the faith. Be strong and courageous. And remember—we are always stronger together than we are alone.
