NETWORKING AND EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPcontinuing education for lymphedema therapists

Time is running out, but you can still sign up for this weekend’s Lymphedema Seminars. This workshop provides continuing education and networking for lymphedema therapists. The Zoom online class offers the latest and greatest information about all things lymphedema. Shoosh, the founder of Lymphedema Seminars, has provided these online classes since Covid shut down her in-person seminars. This day-long event offers a wealth of knowledge and a chance to network and collaborate with others in the lymphedema industry. This seminar will be this Saturday, December 2nd, from 10 am-7 pm CST, offering 7 CEU. Central Lymphatic Dysfunction will be the theme of this class, with presentations from Lawrence B.Afrin, MD, Shelley DiCecco, PT, PhD, CLT-LANA, Karen Ashforth, MS, OTR, CLT-LANA, Leslyn Keith, OTD, CLT-LANA.

If you have attended Lymphedema Seminars online workshops and live seminars previously, you probably know Karen since she has been one of our speakers for years. She has a compassionate nature and is highly dedicated to her patients and the field of lymphatics. She is considered an expert in the clinical use of pneumatic compression and has participated in developing numerous devices and appliances. Karen is also an adjunct professor in the Doctoral Physical Therapy Program at the University of the Pacific. Karen will give a presentation on “What you don’t know can hurt your patients: identifying and treating EDS, MCAS, and POTS, ” which will provide you with more thorough care of your patients. She is also featured on The Compression Closet’s Resource page as she provides online consultations.

Dr. Afrin is an exciting new speaker, and we are so pleased to have him joining us. Since the mid-‘2000s, his clinical work has increasingly focused on hematology, especially mast cell disease. In 2017, he developed an independent institute for advancing care, research, and education in mast cell disease. Dr. Afrin is also working to create a global investigative network in this area. He has an extensive record of peer-reviewed publications, including some of the most highly accessed articles about mast cell activation syndrome and a popular book in the field, and he serves on the editorial boards for several journals. So we are fortunate to have a key figure in this field as a presenter. Don’t miss this chance to hear his “Introduction to Mast Cell Activation Syndrome” presentation.

Dr. Shelley Di CeccoDR. SHELLEY DI CECCO

She is a widely sought-after speaker; we are fortunate to have had her speak for us numerous times. Her topic for our DEC. 2nd online workshop is “The Pelvis & Central Lymphatic Dysfunction,” this outstanding and vital information is not to be missed!

Leslyn Keith has been a consultant and great friend to Lymphedema Seminars for decades. She suggested the theme for this workshop, and her presentation will be on “Deep Central Lymphatic Dysfunction.” Many of you know Leslyn for her work with the Ketogenic diet for lymphedema and lipedema patients. Her topic for this workshop will broaden your view of her work! This will be an exceptionally unique education day for lymphedema therapists.
